Berekum West District to record more coronavirus cases

The District Director of Ghana Health Service, Mrs Agnes Asiedu has announced that the Berekum West District , one of the new districts in the Bono region has recorded its first coronavirus case.

In a short interview , Mr Agnes, did not give much information about the new case, She said the Ghana Health Service is yet to provide all the necessary details about the case and how the contact tracing will go.

Prior to her announcement, the Berekum West District and Berekum East Municipal together had no recorded cases.

On the other hand , A press statement spotted by GhanaNewsPlus , from Ghana Health Service-Jinijini , dated 25th June,2020 indicated that, the 11 year old girl resident of Jinijini was on 1st June 2020 suspected of having the disease, based on her symptoms, and samples were taken on the 3rd June but the test results which came on the 25th June 2020 was positive.
On the same report , The District Director of health services declared the outcome of the patient as Recovered.

So far the country has recorded a total of over 15,400 positive cases with a and over 11,400 recoveries

According to a reliable information and some rumours circulating on various social media platforms, Berekum West District authorities and the health directorate are having a meeting to confirm another two more coronavirus cases.
Berekum West residents should be adhering to public gatherings and social distancing protocols.
