The polling station executives and electoral coordinators of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Jaman South constituency of Bono Region has shifted all their blame on the MCE and the party executives for their failure to retain their parliamentary seat..
Speaking to newsmen in the Region, the Spokesperson for the youth indicated that they were highly disappointed in the bad attitude of the MCE and the party executives towards the party compaign as they were allegedly hinted about their campaigning of skirts and blouse.
Here are the full details of their press conference:
Ladies and gentlemen from the media, we welcome you all and we thank you for honouring our invitation.
The parliamentary seat for Jaman south has been with the NPP since the year 2000. We are therefore surprised that we lost it to the NDC this 2020 election. We have done some investigations into why we lost the seat and that is what we want to let the whole world know.
To start with, the MCE who was appointed by the President of the republic in the person of Hon Alhaji Abuu's actions and inactions led to the loss of the seat. The MCE was seen supporting and sponsoring the skirt and blouse campaign and these are the evidences:
One, He never campaigned for the party elected candidate through out the campaign season until he was forced to do so when the general secretary . Hon John Boadu, visited Jaman south. On that faithful day , he said it clearly, during radio show. that every individual is entitled to his vote so he cannot stop people from doing skirt and blouse.
Secondly. His spokesman was seen openly and countless ocassions campaigning for the skirt and blouse groups and he was never called to order by his boss, the MCE.
The MCE and his spokesperson were seen jubilating in white clothes when the MP, Hon Yaw Afful lost to the NDC candidate .
These reasons are our bases for saying that the was in support of that skirt and blouse and we believe strongly that he did not vote for the NPP candidate.
Again, most of the NPP Jaman south constituecy executives were part of the party defeat. It was evidently known that the ‘skirt and blouse’ campaign group was launched at was at the constituency organizer mother's funeral ground. He strongly supported them. Apart from four constituency executives, who took part in the campaign, all the thirteen other executives were never seen campaigning for the NPP parliamentary candidate in the constituency.
In fact, the constituency research officer was seen returning from his farm on the day that the party had its final health walk . As for the deputy nasara coordinator, the women's organiser and her deputy , the least said about them , the better.
Base on these evidences which caused NPP parliamentary defeat , we demand their resignation with immediate effect.
The constituency chairman kept all the items meant for the campaign team and gave some to people he knows and they also kept for themselves. Over thousands of packaged boxes which contained rice, oil, tomatoes and other items were to be shared for the campaing team but he did not do so.
Many cutlasses , agro chemicals and boots that were meant for the farmers were also not properly distributed. The chairman claims that , he printed over 10,000 T shirts but the T shirts were having only the picture of the president in it without the picture of the MP.
The Constituency chairman , Hon Alex Ferka, explained that some people do not like the T-shirts with Hon Yaw Afful's picture. The question is , who are those people ? Why did chairman adhere to their request? Most of the campaigners of skirt and blouse were seen using that type of T shirts. Where did they get it from? So it points clearly to the fact that the chairman was also in support of the skirt and blouse. All funds that were meant for the campaign were never used by the chairman. Where are those funds?
Ladies and gentlemen, we therefore want all the executives to resign with immediate effect.
The following are the party executives that should resign:
1. Hon Alex Ferka( Constituency chairman)
2.Fosu Bernard ( second vice)
3. Adinkra Dominic ( organizer)
4.Kyeremeh Pius ( dep organizer)
5. Kwaaku Baako (research officer)
6. Abuu Alhaji ( secretary)
7. Nana Pobbi( treasurer)
8 Kwadwo Damoah (Financial secretary)
9. Benewaa Mercy( Women's organizer)
10. Serwaa Akosua( dep women's org)
11. Yeboah Dominic ( dep nasara coordinator)
12. Atta Agyapong Ernest ( communication director) .
Also there is a radio station by name kiss FM that was used to propagate that skirt and blouse agenda. Instead of the party executives to stop them, they were rather encouraging them to the extent that when NPP Bono regional executives issued a communiqué directing all party members not to talk on that radio, the constituency chairman and the deputy constituency organiser granted interviews on that station, undermining the directives of the regional executives. This shows clearly that they were in support of all their dealings which included the insults on MP and prominent persons like Con. Damoa ( GRA boss).
Again, there are some board members who were appointed by the president and are serving on the various capacities who also campaigned vigorously against the NPP parliamentary candidate, despite the fact that it is against the will of Nana Addo. The said board members are Nana Yaa Ansua who double as the queen mother of Drobo traditional council (serving on lands commission board and YEA board) and Nana Kyeremeh Kennedy who is also the Abɔntendɔm hene of Drobo traditional council ( serving on national service board).
In conclusion, we are pleading with Nana Addo to:
1. Terminate all the appointments of the Deputy CEO, Middle Belt Development authority, the NHIS boss ( Jaman south) , the MCE and the two board members who at a point in time called the deputy minister for aviation , a block headed person, insulting the one who appointed him.
2. Order the regional chairman to step in and order the aforementioned people to lay down their tools as constituency executives.
3. order the executives to return all motorbikes that were meant for campaign team and any other thing belonging to the constituency party office
Thank you all for coming.
