The newly formed developmental association, Asuokor Diasporan Citizens Association, with a motto: United We Stand !, has donated Personal Protective equipment (PPEs) to the Asuokor Health Centre in the Jaman North District of Bono region to support the fight against COVID-19 in the area.
The association is an integral point of Asuokor community and is a valuable instrument that was established to bring its citizens together to faster unity and help develop Asuokor community.
The members are mostly the indigenes of Asuokor but reside abroad. The members have donated some Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) such as pieces of nose masks, boxes of disposable gloves, veronica buckets, glucometer, thermometer, blood pressure calf and pulse oximeter in support of Asuokor community Healthcare Centre to fight covid -19 which with thousands of cedis.
These items were presented to the health centre and the entire community by Mr Ansu Kwakye of Georgey Visual TV on behalf of the Asuokor Diaspora citizens Association. The linquist of the community in the person of Okyeame Ankamah and the spokesperson at the centre in the person of Madame Felicia, on behalf of Jaman North Health Directorate, thanked the members of the Association and appended to the government, non governmental organizations, benevolent people to also emulate the tremendous support that the Association has done to come to the aid of the Health Centre as well.
The Assembly member for Asuokor, Hon. Emmanuel Twene, who was present during the presentation, was thrilled at how well the Association members abroad have done to help the community as a whole. He also expressed his profound thanks to all Association members and wished them well in all their endevours. He further advised the people in the community to adhere to covid-19 preventive protocols to avoid contracting the disease.
The chairman of the Association, Mr Twene Yaw Aduasare of U.S.A through video message said, the donation forms part of the Associations Contribution towards the development of Asuokor community and made incessant plea to all Asuokor residents who live both home and abroad to join the Association to realize its dreams.
The establishment of the Association came about as a result of brain behind though Mr Obeng Mau (OB) who resides in Belguim but an indigeneous of Asuokor. He got to know that some citizens from Berekum in the Brong Region have come together to form that kind of Association to promote unity and development and that Asuokor citizens in Diaspora can do likewise.
The Asuokor Diaspora citizens Associations which was formed not long ago, has chalked a lot of achievements to the extent that, the members are committed and determined.
The members through which the donations were made are as follow: Mr Twene Yaw Aduasare chairman – USA , Elizabeth Boatemaa Vice chairperson , - spain, Mr Obeng Manu (OB), coordinator – Belguim , Kojo (senior Apelele).Spain;
Executive member – Italy , Fredrick Kwarteng,- Executive member, organizer – Italy, Attah Kwasi – Executive member -spain, and other members are : Mr Asante Stephen (BB) – spain, Nana Kofi Kuffour (kakabo) – USA, Mr Yomaa Kwasi – spain, Alex PaaBobo – spain and Mr Kumah Stephen (YK) Financial Secretary. The chairman further revealed that the Association will continue to donate to develop other sectors in the community such as schools, providing potable water, etc as long as the chiefs and residents draw their attention.
