PRESIDENT AKUFFO-ADDO FINALLY VISITED BEREKUM OMANHENE PALACE...

The president of the republic, Nana Akuffo-Addo, on his Bono tour extended it to Berekum where he visited Nana Dasebere (Dr) Amankona Diawuo ll , the Omanhene of Berekum traditional area.

 

Nana Amankona Diawuo ll, during his welcoming address, thanked the president for being the first sitting President to visit him at his palace for nearly 20 years and also the measures being taken by his government during COVID 19 pandemic which he has been commended worldwide.

 

The Omanhene of Berekum area expressed his appreciation on developments which the city has seen recently which includes asphalted inner city roads and the ongoing Thursday market secondary city project.

He latter appealed to the president to ensure that Berekum obtain a university or vocational/techinical institutions which will help reduce unemployment in the area. He stressed on shortage of palace staffers in the country.

 

Nana Dasebere also hammered on the long litigations issues of Rawlings park market project which has halted trading activities by the market women and pleaded that the government to step in and ensure that the case is resolved once and for all.

He finally renewed his request to Nana Addo about school bus to St. Augustine SHS in the Berekum West District.

President Nana Addo also showed much appreciations to Nananom and the people of Berekum for their maximum support during 2020 elections and the peace in Berekum and He made it clear that, 'that was his first priority of his tour'. He told Nananom that , all that the Nana Dasebere has said are all noted down and will ensure that things are done within the shortest possible time to make Berekum and Ghana move forward especially the market.

 

The President again promised that he will also connect with GES with the regard to the university in Berekum, either to construct a  new university or convert Berekum College of Education (Becolled) into a good university.

 

In an appreciation to the president, the Nananom of Berekum Traditional area  presented a cow to him for his tremendous work done in Berekum East and West.

The president latter extended his visit to #WEDDI_AFRICA_TOMATO FACTORY IN BEREKUM where he officially commissioned together with Dasebere Dr. Amankona Diawuo ll. (Omanhene of Berekum Trd.Area.)
